Believe it or not, the sports top you wear whilst exercising can make a difference to how you feel after a workout.  Ever completed an hour cardio workout and experienced chafing under the arm?

Try to choose clothes that draw sweat away from your skin.  Clothing made out of fabrics containing polypropylene allow sweat to evaporate from the skin and don’t absorb the moisture.  Avoid cotton that soaks up the moisture and doesn’t breathe.

Choose clothing that fits comfortably and perform a few exercises whilst you’re trying it on to check for support.  Some tops have an in built bra, you may need extra support as these can be quite stretchy to fit over you head.  Avoid clothing that is too loose or too tight.  Tops that are too tight tend to chafe and tops that are too loose get in the way and show more than you wish!

Consider the time of year you’re exercising and choose clothing that is appropriate.  You may want to layer tops in the winter, giving the option of taking one off as your body temperature rises and adding back on as you cool down.

I have a variety of exercise tops, one of my favourite brands being Tesco for style, price and comfort.  What is your favourite brand?
