Did you know that eating too late at night can result in a restless night?  If you go to bed on a full stomach, your body is still working hard to digest the food, making it harder to fall asleep quickly.  Being in a lying down position, gravity isn’t playing it’s part and you can suffer with indigestion and heartburn.  Going to bed on a full tummy can also make your brain more active, making you dream more and waking in the morning not feeling rested.

By eating too close to bedtime, there are  links to type 2 diabetes and weight gain by eating too close to going to bed.  Although a calorie is a calorie whatever time of the day you consume it, when we eat during the day we normally burn the fuel more quickly by going about our daily lives.  Try to eat your dinner at least 2-3 hours before going to bed.
