It’s so important to protect our energy so we can go about our daily lives with fulfilment and in a mentally stable state.  Here’s some tips on how to protect your energy.

 

  • Pay attention to how you’re feeling. Do you feel tense, stressed, is your breathing shallow and quick or do you keep getting headaches or gastric problems?
  • Set boundaries to conserve your energy – learn to say ‘no’ to people. Doesn’t mean no never, just no doesn’t work for me at the moment.
  • Use mindfulness and meditation to direct your intention.
  • Find your happy place – close you eyes and go there.
  • Be aware of your triggers. If deadlines make you stressed, learn to be more organised.  If not exercising makes you stressed, make sure your diarise exercise sessions.
  • Dedicate time for doing things you love – cooking, sewing, walk etc.
  • Declutter – clearing out old clothes, your desk, kitchen cupboards is a great way to destress.
  • Trust yourself – listen to your instincts. Learn who is a positive influence on you and who isn’t.
  • Build a social circle of positive people. You don’t need to cut off people that are negative, you will naturally have less to do with them as you grow.
  • Build a wall of positive energy around yourself. Think of it as a protective barrier.
  • Stop giving away your energy – goes back to boundary settings.
  • Control the ego. Don’t waste energy on negative thoughts and influences.
