International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. As Mums, friends, sisters, business leaders and entrepreneurs we need to stand together and show that we will bring an end to inequality.

The Day is celebrated on Monday 8th March, this year the theme is #choosetochallenge.  ‘A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change’.  This saying couldn’t be more pertinent than in 2020/21.

To celebrate IWD I have extended the #choosetochallenge with #Find15ForMe.  As Mums, we all know how busy our lives can be and there is very little ‘me’ time.  We so often put our families before ourselves and sometimes to the detriment of our health.  If we stood back and took the time to look at what we have accomplished we would be immensely proud.  In #Find15ForMe I would like you to make a promise and tell your family that you will take 15 minutes every day to have time for yourself.  This could be to do a stretch session, read a book, go for a walk, have a bath, do a cardio workout or catch up with a friend.  By taking that time we don’t burn out, we are more emotionally stable and we feel better in ourselves. We could take on the world.

International Woman’s Day falls on the day lots of families will be going through change and emotional times as our children return to school.  I, like I am sure lots of you, will have mixed emotions.  I will miss the hustle and bustle of 5 children at home all day but I am excited for them to see their friends and return to what is ‘normal’ for them.  On that day I have not scheduled any live classes as I know we will all be busy making lunches, realising school trousers are too small and finding PE kits!

For the remainder of the week I have live 15 minute taster classes/podcasts twice a day for working and non working Mums.  On Tuesday we have Pilates at 11.30am and 7pm, on Thursday we have a cardio session at 11.30am and 7pm and Friday we have a Mind and Body Relax session at those same times.  Wednesday is a little different, I will be doing a live Podcast at 1.30pm with Claire Dore, an Intuitive Mindset Coach for Women and then another discussion at 7pm.  All the live sessions are free and can be booked at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/d/online/emma-wheeler-personal-fitnes/?q=emma+wheeler+personal+fitnes&mode=search

All live events will be recorded if you can’t access them at the time.  In addition to the live classes you will receive the daily stretch sessions which are all tailored specifically to women this week.
